My position is in the Education Policy and Leadership Studies Department in the University of Iowa College of Education. As an instructor, I teach courses on public policy and research methods. I also am a career readiness and success coordinator for the USAID Activity "Private Sector Partnerships to Strengthen Higher Education," in Kosovo. My political science research examines Supreme Court legitimacy and the role of law clerks. My educational research evaluates how e-learning prepares university students for high-impact practices, such as research, internships, and other forms of experiential learning. My research has appeared in Journal for the Scientific Study of Religion, Journal of Information Technology & Politics, Journal of Law and Courts, Justice System Journal, and Marquette University Law Review, among other outlets. My writing for public audiences has appeared in Slate and "The Monkey Cage," a blog published by the Washington Post until 2022. I'm a graduate of the University of Alabama (Ph.D., Political Science); Eastern Illinois University (B.A., Political Science summa cum laude), in Charleston, IL; and Hall Township High School, in Spring Valley, IL. |
